Courtney first met Kurt Cobain at 11pm on Friday 12th January 1990 in a club in Portland where his band Nirvana were playing. Within seconds the two were wrestling on the floor. Courtney had came along with a friend who was dating a member of the opening band. Her first words to Kurt were You look like Dave Pirner.

They parted that night but Courtney followed Nirvanas career and when her friend began dating Dave Grohl (Nirvana's drummer) she found out Kurt was single and sent him a heart shaped box containing a porcelain doll, 3 dried roses, a miniature tea cup and shellac-covered seashells. Kurt was impressed.

The couple got engaged in December 1991 while lying in a bed in a London hotel. They got married on a beach at Waikiki on February 24th 1992, Kurt wore pjs and Courtney wore a dress that used to belong to Frances Farmer.

Courtney and Kurt's daughter Frances Bean was born at 7:48pm on 18 August 1992 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She had Kurt's eyes. Kurt and Courtney loved Frances, Kurt especially treasured her.

Sadly Kurt Cobain took his own life in his Seattle home with a shotgun on 5th April 1994. But his memory will always live on. Peace love and empathy. For Kurt.
